Binary Breaker

celebrating the harmony of duality where opposites attract and collide.

Born and raised in Los Angeles by an Armenian family, Nare spent their youth as a five-sport competitive athlete before transitioning to the entertainment industry. Whether stunt-doubling Kaia Gerber on American Horror Story or appearing in HBO Max’s Sex Lives of College Girls, their athletic background and fierce self-discipline have fueled a rapid rise on screen.

Coming out as non-binary, Nare pushed back against the conformity enforced by the commercial modeling industry’s outdated stereotypes—trading their long hair for a sleek, androgynous cut. Though the shift was rejected by some clients, it didn’t take long before Nare was sought out by brands that truly reflected their identity. By standing firm in a presentation that feels right to them, they’re forcing the commercial world to re-evaluate expressions of gender roles, proving that authenticity and representation should be the norm, not the exception.

This shoot explores the power of contrast and the beauty that emerges when two worlds collide. Tailored suiting wrapped in caution-tape grit speaks to the tension between polish and punk, while stiff suspenders softened by floral accents show that masculinity can embrace fragility. A cowboy hat and chaps feel out of place in a concrete landscape, fusing Western rebellion with urban edge.

A sleek androgynous silhouette ties everything together, revealing that authenticity thrives not in a single category but where opposing elements converge and meld. The resulting editorial challenges norms of gender, style, and setting, and celebrates the unexpected harmony that arises when contrasts lead the story. Like smelting two metals into one alloy, this series forges disparate elements into a new, unbreakable form of expression.
